Oblong quarto: title page, table of distances including an engraved map of the surroundings of Saint Petersburg, index of the 38 lithographed drawings and 38 lithographed plates in black by various artists and lithographers, including A. Orlovskii, Aleksandrov, Swebach and Kollmann. Very white paper despite a few scattered small pinholes in places.
Contemporary ½ red long-grain shagreen with small corners, leather missing from the headbands, rubbing, blue cardboard covers soiled and rubbed, round title label on the upper cover reading ‘Souvenir de Saint-Pétersbourg. Costumes Russes 1823’.
