Binding by Creuzevault STERNE (Laurence) – [SAUVAGE (Sylvain)] A Sentimental Journey through France and Italy with illustrations by Sylvain SAUVAGE, woodcuts by Pierre BOUCHET. Paris, Creuzevault, 1942. In-4; colour illustrations by Sylvain SAUVAGE. Limited edition of 550 copies on Arches vellum; one of the first 50 copies contains two versions of the frontispiece, a colour suite, a black-and-white suite printed on Japanese paper, and an original sketch signed by the illustrator. Green box signed CREUZEVAULT, plain spine with decoration, title in gold on front and spine, decoration featuring mosaic-style brick arabesques, endpapers and half-endpapers in unbleached cloth, gilt edges, housed in a half-box with flaps and a protective slipcase.
