3 parts, in-8. An extremely fine facsimile. Printed in a run of 500 copies (only 130 copies were put into circulation; the remainder were destroyed).
Half brown calfskin with corners marked ‘DURAND’, ribbed spine, gilt headbands and volume numbers, blind-stamped, burgundy title labels, gilt head, original caramel-coloured publisher’s covers preserved.
The only French reprint, expanded to include a bio-bibliography. The first edition of 1803 is exceedingly rare; the Pau Library holds one copy, as do the Archives of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Two copies have recently come up for sale at the start of this century, but these were certainly the first to appear on the market for decades. (Soulice 305)(Lacaze 192)
