*La Prison de M. Dassoucy* is a burlesque and autobiographical account written by the libertine musician and poet Charles Coypeau d’Assoucy in 1674. In it, he recounts his imprisonment at the Châtelet in Paris, portraying himself as the ‘Diogenes of the prison’ in order to transform his legal ordeal and misfortunes into a literary work.
