In-16 format, comprising 71-(1)-16-(1) pages. Contemporary full havana sheepskin binding, ribbed spine decorated with gilded fleurs-de-lis. A rare first edition, illustrated with 6 wood-engraved plates in the text. This seed drill was invented by the Abbé SOUMILLE (1703–1774), a mathematician, physicist and agronomist, a priest and benefice holder of the chapter of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, a Corresponding Member of the Royal Academy of Sciences in Paris.
