Nice, Le Chant des Sphères, 1988–1989. 2 substantial folio volumes in black morocco leather, plain spines adorned with the title in Chinese-style gold lettering within an ornamental medallion, beautiful decoration on the front cover depictinga temple with columns and a portico of red lacquered metal and a repoussé morocco roof adorned with gold and white decoration on ivory-style bases illustrated with a polychrome and gold dragon within an ornamental frame of black repoussé morocco with gilded fleurons, a panel of red morocco leather decorated in red within a reserved area at the bottom centre, and a large central medallion of red lacquered metal adorned with a colour-enamelled and gold illustration (different for each volume), gilded head, in half-black morocco slipcases with gilded titles (identical to the spines of the bindings), publisher’s binding. Numerous beautiful colour illustrations with gold highlights by Gradassi, both within and outside the text (including double-page plates). The illustrations within and outside the text were reproduced using screen-printing and coloured in the ‘Arts et Couleurs’ workshops A set of illustrations is enclosed Printed in a run of 1,250 numbered copies.
