Full contemporary binding in fawn sheepskin. Ribbed spine, decorated with gilt metalwork and fleurons. In the centre of each cover, the coat of arms of the Count of La Bletonnière, framed within a circle. Handwritten bookplate of the Count of La Bletonnière, in black ink, on the flyleaf of each volume. Each flyleaf is decorated with the bookplate of Bernard de la Vernette Saint Maurice. Title pages featuring an engraving by Chauveau. Volume I: Damage to the top and bottom edges. A 5 cm tear on the second cover. Engraving (Tombeau d’Armand de Bourbon, Prince de Conti), 13 unnumbered pages, 470 pp., 5 unnumbered pages. Volume II: Missing sections at the top and bottom.
