[AUTOGRAPH]
RODIN, Auguste (1840–1917)
Autograph letter signed ‘A. Rodin’, addressed to the painter François Flameng. No place, no date. 1 p. in-12.
‘My dear Flameng, your lovely landscape – or rather, that beautiful night scene you sent – would be well worth displaying at the Cercle des Arts Libéraux alongside the other works. That is my opinion, and from what I hear around me, it is a very fine piece […]’.
Rodin also exhibited his drawings for ‘The Gates of Hell’ at the Cercle des Arts Libéraux from 1883 onwards.
