Dusillion. 0.75 x 1.11 m, folded A large and beautiful map of Paris, drawn up by the architect Alvar Toussaint, revised and expanded by Victor Levasseur, geographer and land surveyor. It features a large 360° panoramic view taken from the Pont Neuf, with the equestrian statue of Henry IV seen from behind on the left, and showing the tip of the Île de la Cité. It is accompanied by a circular map showing the outskirts and fortifications of Paris, a long alphabetical list of streets, squares, passageways, quays, barriers, etc., and a list of recently created streets, such as the Rue de l’Hôtel de Ville (1835) or the Rue Sainte-Opportune (1836). TBE. Very good condition, a very fine copy, with outlines watercoloured at the time. Engraved by Laguillermie and Lebel. Lettering by Abel Malo. Mounted on canvas.
