Second edition, partly original and the first to be illustrated, expanded to include two previously unpublished tales: *La Féticheuse* and *Le Don de vitesse*. The tales are presented in a new order and the volume is adorned with 50 original woodcuts by Pierre PINSARD (1906–1988), inspired by African sculptures, including 12 full-page colour plates.
A copy printed on Lafuma vellum paper, unnumbered, featuring this autograph dedication signed by the author on the half-title page:

A few minor flaws and stains on the cover. A tear at the bottom of the first blank page.
