An edition of 1,025 copies, illustrated with 38 original colour lithographs by the painter and animal sculptor Georges Lucien GUYOT (1885–1973), including 15 full-page illustrations. It also features a wood-engraved title vignette, repeated on the cover. One of 100 copies numbered on vellum from the Papeteries de Lana (no. 68), comprising a series of black-and-white illustrations on Japanese paper. A dedication by the artist on the second blank page, accompanied by a superb watercolour depicting a lion.
