Large in-8° of XXVIII, 966, [1] pp. h.-t. plates and folding tables. Green half-maroquin, spine with 5 raised bands, title gilt, year gilt at foot. First edition. A nominative copy on printed Japon for Gustave Auguste Macon (1865-1930), private secretary to the last Duc d'Aumale and archivist of the Château de Chantilly between 1883 and 1892, then, in accordance with the wishes expressed by Henri d'Orléans in his will, first assistant curator of the Musée Condé, a position he held for life. The authors are indebted to him for giving them access to numerous sources for this work. With a few annotations in pencil.
