Charles BAUDELAIRE. Standing, 1862. Photograph. Print on paper. It measures approximately 24 by 18 cm. Baudelaire is shown with his hands in his pockets. He looks at the photographer with a serious expression. He is not facing the camera head-on, but is turned a few degrees to the side. Signed ‘Nadar’ in the bottom right-hand corner. (Nadar’s studios) A later print of the original, based on a collodion glass negative, produced in 1862 at his first studio on Rue St Lazare in Paris.
