CHAMPFLEURY. Romanticism. In square 8°, ½ contemporary cloth binding with a smooth spine. A first draft manuscript, containing countless changes compared with the work published by Dentu in 1883, and the order of which has been entirely altered. Additions, deletions, overwriting and corrections are too numerous to count. 61 pages of minute, tightly written handwriting—though fairly legible—will, when printed, make up a volume of over 300 pages, including its numerous reproductions. Naturally, the bibliography—which must have required considerable classification and research—does not appear in this manuscript. It is one of his most famous works, first published in part in the journal *Le Livre*. A work full of anecdotes and curiosities.
