Description
Jean REANDE – (Charles BLOCKHUYSEN) born on 18 March 1903 and died in Paris on 15 January 1975. For 28 years, he served as deputy mayor of the 18th arrondissement; he was a poet, a passionate and talented contributor to *L’Homme libre de Montmartre*, and a musician – so much so that he founded the Beethoven France association. He remained true to his political convictions and loyal to his neighbourhood, his Montmartre. He is buried at St Vincent’s Cemetery. A fine collection of documents, including posters for musical events centred on Beethoven, photographs, documents, correspondence, letters, various notes – some dating from his time in office and relating to his life as deputy mayor – a songbook and drawings by his father from his time in the military, newspaper articles, several sections of typescripts with corrections, etc.
