LOUYS Pierre: Les chansons de Bilitis. Collection Pierre Corrard Paris 1922. First edition illustrated by BARBIER and wood-engraved by F.L. SCHMIED, one of only 125 copies on Arches. Signed by G.Barbier. Enclosed are three original test models of the cover with additions and cut-outs by Barbier. 43 superb colour illustrations, including 14 H.T. and 6 full-page illustrations. In 4-page leaves in a gilt imitation snakeskin folder and slipcase. Inlaid on the front cover is the Bilitis medal created for the occasion by the great art deco sculptor Albert POMMIER.
