Description
GIRAUDOUX Jean: Promenade avec Gabrielle. N.R.F Paris 1919. First separate edition, printed in facsimile of the manuscript, and first printing of Laboureur's 16 original colour lithographs. This text was originally a chapter in the novel Simon le pathétique (published in 1918). The title page is dated 1919, but the work was not published until five years later, due to hesitations between the artist and the publisher. Edition of 185 copies, this one of 150 on Arches laid paper. Bound in-8, bradel full black painted paper spotted green and red, title throughout, untrimmed, cover preserved (binding signed M. Schlissinger 1999).
