Edition illustrated with 46 wood-engraved colour compositions by Auguste Lepère. Edition of 137 copies of which 2 on genuine vellum, this one of 135 copies on Arches laid paper printed for M. Théodore Reveillon. Beautifully bound in-8, dark green morocco, spine and covers decorated with a mosaic of red morocco listels underlined by 3 gilt fillets framing interlacing red morocco listels bordered by 3 gilt fillets surrounding mauve fleurs-de-lis and green arabesques (Renaissance-style decoration), full green morocco lining decorated with gilt motifs at the corners, green moire endpapers, three gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved, slipcase (binding signed Noulhac and dated 1908) 1200/1500 ##### 218-GUÉRIN Maurice de: Le Centaure. Le Cercle Gryphe Lyon 1929. Illustrated with 73 geometrical compositions in red and black enhanced with palladium by the copperplate maker Claudius Linossier, for whom this will be the only illustrated book. They were wood-engraved by Philippe Burnot. First work published by the Cercle Gryphe, printed in an edition of 133 copies on strong vellum, this one printed for Mr Robert Houdia. Bound in 4 full orange morocco chemise, smooth spine, title in Chinese palladium, centre of boards in paper with metallic effect motif, slipcase (binding signed M. Schlissinger 1997).
