CHAUVEAU (François). The Life of St Bruno, Founder of the Carthusians, painted in the cloister of the Chartreuse of Paris by Eustache Le Sueur, the King’s Court Painter. Paris: René Cousinet, undated (1650–1660), folio, brown calfskin, decorated ribbed spine (contemporary binding). Illustrated engraved title page, an engraved dedication leaf to the Carthusians of Paris and 22 plates engraved by F. Chauveau. Minor wear, a few stains and foxing.
