Description
LOHIÉ (Jean-Michel). The Life of Saint Bruno, Founder of the Carthusian Order, based on the paintings by Eustache Le Sueur housed in the galleries of the Palais du Sénat Conservateur in the Luxembourg Gardens. Paris, the Author, 1808–1809, folio, speckled fawn half-basane, original printed blue covers preserved (late 19th-century binding). The series was published in instalments of 9 plates drawn by Rouillard, Lohié and Le Clerc. The covers state there are 26 plates, but it appears that only 9 were actually published.
