Description
[MANUSCRIPT – LAMBERT d’HERBIGNY]. Treatise on the Generality of Lyon. No place, no date. (c. 1680), in-4, brown half-basane, ribbed spine with compartments and floral decoration, marbled edges (contemporary binding). One of the copies of the Intendants’ Treatise concerning Lyon. Commissioned by Louis XIV in 1797 for the education of the Duke of Burgundy, these manuscripts were intended to provide a better understanding of the kingdom, province by province. The one on Lyon was written by Lambert d’Herbigny, Intendant-General of Lyon from 1694 to 1700. Beautiful handwriting, very legible. A fine copy.
