Description
[CÉLINE] – *L’Illustré National*. An Anecdotal History of the European War. Paris, Tallandier, 1915, quarto, loose-leaf The legendary issue no. 52 of this newspaper, which features, on the back page and in colour, the heroic deed of Sergeant Destouches. Indeed, one can see the future Louis-Ferdinand Céline carrying, “under heavy fire, an order that the infantry liaison officers were reluctant to deliver”. He was seriously wounded in the arm on his return from this mission. A very rare document. A few small tears.
