Description
Papal Bull of Pope Paul IV: Paul, Bishop of the Servants of God, to his beloved sons: greetings and apostolic blessing. Bull issued by the Roman Curia for Jean Foillenot, parish priest of the Church of Sainte Marie, addressed to the Chapter of Besançon Cathedral, dated September 1557. A handwritten parchment sheet measuring 52 x 33 cm, written in Latin in brown ink (perfectly legible), comprising 30 lines, bearing its lead seal on hemp cords, numerous signatures and initials. The seal was struck on a small lead disc bearing the effigy of Paul IV. Paul VI (Giovanni Pietro Caraffa), born in Capriglio in 1476, elected and crowned in 1555, died in Rome in 1559.
