Doctorate in Theology awarded in Besançon to Stéphane-François Galois on 4 May 1749: Doctorate in Theology, entirely handwritten on parchment in Latin, richly calligraphed and adorned with coats of arms and floral motifs, illuminated, awarded in Besançon by Antoine Pierre de Grammont, Claude François Clerc de Villersexuel, Dunod de Charnage, etc. A sheet of parchment measuring 44 x 53 cm with numerous signatures. Dated on the reverse, in the Grand Chamber of Parliament in Besançon at the morning council of 5 May 1749, signed Chalon (creases and stains).
