FROISSARD (Alfred): The Prince-Bishops of Basel from 1575 to 1828. Photographic portraits of the Prince-Bishops who took up residence in Porrentruy, the capital of the Principality, based on existing paintings, accompanied by coloured coats of arms, a historical note, the seal and the signature of each Prince-Bishop. Porrentruy, Lithographie Jurassienne C. Froissard, 1944. Large quarto, unpaginated. Full red publisher’s cloth, with title and coat of arms in gold on the front cover. Numbered edition (print run not specified). Illustrated with 14 mounted colour portraits of the Prince-Bishops who took up residence in Porrentruy. Each portrait is accompanied by a colour plate of the coat of arms, with a historical note on the reverse, the Prince’s seal and signature. Ex-libris by Jean-Claude Périat.
