GRANCHER (Marcel-Etienne): From the wines of Henry IV to those of Brillat-Savarin, with illustrations by Marius Dejean. 1938 Courteline Prize. Lyon, Editions Champs Fleuris, n.d. [1952]. Printed in a run of 530 copies; this is copy no. 218. Square 8vo, 185-(10) pp., illustrated with colour lithographs (excluding the title page) and drawings within the text. Modern half-chagrin binding, spine and covers preserved. This work pays special tribute to the wines of the Jura. Marcel Grancher was a French journalist and writer, born in Lons-le-Saunier in 1897, who died in Nice in 1976. A copy signed by the author and sent to Mr Henri Maire ‘with my warmest regards, and long live the wines of our region’. Henri Maire’s library stamp.
