Two volumes, small 8vo, 158-(1) pp. + 151-(1) pp. Modern navy blue morocco leather, lined with sea-blue morocco, spine with five raised bands decorated with thistles, covers embossed with a frame of fillets and fleurons, lining decorated with a scattering of fleurons, endpapers in thin calfskin, all edges gilt, case in solid sea-blue morocco edged with navy blue (bound by A. Pierre, gilt by Plumelle). A very fine first edition, with an elegant signed binding. Slight indentation to the edges of the first volume; minor marginal repairs to the title page and the last folio of the second volume. Bruno Monnier’s ex-libris in gold lettering at the foot of the half-backs.
