Description
Royal Ordinance Concerning the Minting and Regulation of Coins in His Kingdom and the County of Burgundy. Antwerp: Hierosme Verdussen, Printer of His Majesty’s Coins, 1622. Small quarto, 34 folios with title page, unpaginated, featuring 374 engraved coin reproductions (title page doubled, washed and glued, with a missing upper right-hand corner). Modern speckled calfskin binding, spine with 5 raised bands, triple fillet on the covers, roulette pattern on the edges and interior, gilt edges (Devauchelle). On the last leaf, an autograph signature by Pierre Despoulot, Doctor of Law and citizen of Besançon, 1622. A very rare volume, of equal interest to numismatists and those of local history.
