Description
VIEILLE (Commander Alfred) Graduate of the Besançon Academy: A Major Criminal Trial under Louis XV. Pierre-Etienne Dumont and his gang, based on criminal records and other unpublished documents (18th-century Franche-Comté judicial chronicle). Besançon, 1936. 8vo, 353 folios. Printed on the front side only as a facsimile of Commander Alfred Vieille’s handwriting, followed by a large fold-out map of the places visited by Dumont’s gang, showing the routes they took. Contemporary half-chagrin binding, with a decorated ribbed spine. A rare volume, printed in a very small run, with a few handwritten corrections by the author.
