A fine Plantinian edition, illustrated with a frontispiece and 168 (151 + 17) intaglio portraits of illustrious men based on the collections of antiquities and medals of Fulvio Orsini (1529-1660), a great humanist and antiquarian of the Italian Renaissance.
The 151 portraits, by Théodore Galle, had first appeared in 1598, and the 17 others, numbered A to R, are new.
