VERY RARE GOTHICAL EDITION of the Sunday sermons of Nicolas de Hacqueville, doctor of theology and Franciscan preacher who lived at the end of the 13th century. The text was provided by the theologians Jean Quentin and Louis Vasseur.
These sermons were very popular in their day, and many 16th-century editions exist.
Printed on two columns in small gothic type, the title decorated with François Regnault's fine typographical mark known as the elephant (cf. Renouard, no. 940).
Handwritten notes from the period on the verso of the last leaf. Bookplate in violet ink on one endpaper: Barbet 333 a.
