Second edition of the Spanish translation published in 1669 of this fine book of emblems from Horace.
The illustration includes a portrait of the author engraved by Pontius after Gertrude Vaenius, a large vignette with the arms of the Marquis of Caracena by Diepenbeke, and 103 emblems engraved in intaglio in the text by Otto Vaenius who was one of Rubens' masters.
Landwehr mentions a frontispiece which is not present here.

The first part of the work, on strong paper, has wide margins. Paper evenly scorched, some wetness. The figure on p. 23 is pasted down, as are the title and caption on p. 81. Fine restoration to binding.
