ANDRESEN II, 32. ADAMS F-229. Apart from the title, the engravings are all from the original 1574 edition printed in Breslau and financed by Seyfried Rybisch, cameral counsellor. Tobias Fendt, a German painter and engraver, lived and died in Breslau in 1575. He had visited Germany, Italy, France and Spain, where he surveyed numerous tombs and published this collection of 125 funerary monuments of famous men from Antiquity to the Renaissance, based on his drawings. They bear epigraphs, and most of them are in Italy.
