Pet. in-8, (32) ff, 271 ff, (1) f., printed in gothic script, title framed with grotesques, paper yellowed, tear to one leaf of the table with loss of some letters, some light spotting, brown half calf, spine ribbed and decorated. STC 10961. First edition published in 1534. Sir Anthony Fitzherbert (1470- 1538) was a learned judge and an authority on legal matters in England. The New Natura Brevium is one of the main treatises on the rules of Common Law in the 16th century. It is based on case law as well as statutes passed by Parliaments. It remained one of the classic works of English law until the end of the eighteenth century.
