The illustration consists of borders, bands sometimes illustrated, and for the emperors of 268 medals with effigies on black background, mostly by Hans Weiditz. Ranges from Julius Caesar to Francis I. Huttich was born in Mainz around 1480, was an antiquarian and numismatist, and was canon of Strasburg Cathedral in 1530, dying in 1540.
