The burin engravings are signed by Hieronymus Wierix (65), Anton II Wierix (58), Johannes Wierix (9), Adriaen Collaert (11), Jan Collaert (1), Karel van Mallery (8) and one with an N after drawings by Bernardino Passeri and Maarten de Vos. This monumental engraving work was begun through Christophe Plantin, who was responsible for finding engravers and was in contact with Father Diego Jimenez (1530-1596), secretary to the Jesuits in Rome and Nadal's publisher.
