First edition given by Valgrisi and including critical notes by the famous scholar Girolamo Ruscelli in the original edition. The title is set in a woodcut portico and the work is illustrated with 51 full-page woodcuts framed with grotesques, cherubs and figures. These are new compared with previous editions, particularly those by Giolito, and are full-page for the first time. According to Kristeller, they were engraved after Giovanni Battista Dossi, brother of Dosso Dossi, both painters of the Ferrara school.
