In-12, 102 ff. including title, approbation, preface, introduction (4) ff., 49 ff. with the text on the verso engraved in italics and 49 h. t. figs., red half-marble bradel, smooth spine decorated (BONNELAITRE).
Dedicated to Louis de France (1682-1712) Duke of Burgundy. Entirely engraved in intaglio. Many figures are signed by F. Ertinger or N. Guerard. The author was an Augustinian religious and doctor of theology. The book was intended for the religious education of the six-year-old Duke of Burgundy. The subjects covered are the articles of the Symbol, the Dominical Prayer, the commandments of God and the Church, the Sacraments and the deadly sins. The artists wanted to make the scenes depicted vivid and picturesque.
