G. Melzi, Dizionario delle opere anonime, vol. 1, p. 172. Vicaire, Gastronomie, 196. OBERLÉ (Fastes) n°367) First French edition. This book is of the utmost interest to gastronomy, the art of the table, women and morals in general. It contains chapters on wine, saffron, banquets, meats, thrift at table, posson, salddes, and so on. All these essays, revealing the customs of the time, have a single purpose: to save money. Translated from: La Compagnia della lesina, an Italian mockery attributed to Vialardi or Buoni. This mockery of avarice and miserliness appeared in Italian in the last quarter of the sixteenth century. It is attributed to Tommaso Buoni or Francesco Maria Vialardi. The Continuation, which forms the second part of the work, comprises two pamphlets with continuous pagination: Nouvelle consulte des femmes pour estre admises en la Confrairie de la Lésine and Notables advertissemens aux confrères de la fameuse Compagnie de la Lésine.
