In-8, (8) ff. including title-frontispice, 685 pp., (28) ff. ; (9) ff. 186 pp. l'Histoire généalogique has a separate title, several sections a little yellowed, contemporary brown calf, gilt thread on boards, spine ribbed and decorated, headpieces and hinges remain.
MORTIMER (French) n°128. Frontispiece engraved by Léonard Gaultier and 88 woodcuts reproducing those of the first French edition published in Lyon in 1581 in the translation by Antoine Du Verdier. These woodcuts reproduce in reduced size those of the Venice edition (1571) engraved by Bolognino Zaltieri. The Images of the Gods served as an iconographic manual for contemporary artists.
