LANDWEHR (Romeyn de Hooghe) no. 77. The engraver of the first folded plate was inspired by Romeyn de Hooghe, and for the fifty others by Cornelis Dusart, first published in Amsterdam in 1691. The bust figures in this one are now full-length and no longer engraved in the black manner, but in intaglio. A biting satire against the persecution of Protestants.
