VIOLLET LEDUC 537. LACHÈVRE II, 255. First edition. Dehénault or Hesnaut (1611?-1682) was a libertine poet, a pupil of Gassendi and a friend of Chapelle and Molière. He was considered to be one of the best verse writers of his time. Viollet Leduc lists the Lettre à Sapho, addressed to his pupil Madame Deshoulières, as the most remarkable piece in this collection.
