''This collection, which was really quite well done, was intended above all for the true Prétieuses, that is to say, the witty women of the time. (...) There are pieces in it which smell a little of the licence of the satyrical Parnassus, allusions to the misadventures of a Marquis de Langey (p. 132)...'' (Gay). It includes the following pieces in particular: a play by Boileau: stances Sur l'Escole des Femmes (pp. 176-177), a stanza of which, judged too playful, was removed from his works - a play by Corneille: Remerciment au roy (pp. 276-279) - 2 plays by Molière - a play by La Fontaine.
