He left several collections of burlesque poems and in particular a voluminous commentary in verse on the Ecole de Salerne. Viollet le Duc emphasises the coarseness and cynicism of his productions. Includes (pp. 156-184): Le Triomphe du Roy-Boit. Dedicated to the children of Bacchus, with numerous verses on earthly foods: gasteau, fava beans, bread, beef, salt, mutton, andouilles, mustard, ham, olives, artichokes, pepper, suckling pig, etc., etc.
