Lyon, Simon Rigaud, 1619. In-8, (4) ff. including the portrait of Dorléans, 584 pp. and (14) ff. with a few russets, contemporary ivory vellum with flaps, traces of binding, upper cuff a little worn. Louis Dorléans (1542-1627), a lawyer at the Parliament of Paris, was for a long time the spokesman for the League before rallying to Henry IV. In most of the work, after recalling the king's obligation to render justice, he describes the role of the Parlement, the matters dealt with there, the time when it opened, the magistrates' ornaments, etc. Each of these is followed by a separate title. Following each with a separate title, five remonstrances made to the Parliament after Easter of the years 1589, 1590, April and December 1591, November 1592, during the power of the League in Paris. These are moral harangues illustrated with humanist references.
