Description
COCHIN, Charles-Nicolas - Vignettes pour l'Histoire du Languedoc. Paris, Vve de F. Chereau, s. d. (c. 1745). In-8 oblong, title, 52 copper-engraved figs, 19th c. mahogany calf, boards framed in the Du Seuil style with fleur-de-lys at the corners, gilt title in centre, monogram H on second board.
Collection of fifty-two vignettes engraved by Cochin, Tardieu and de Poilly, mainly after Cazes and Homblot, to illustrate the Histoire du Languedoc by Dom Claude de Vic and Dom Joseph Vaissette. First published between 1730 and 1745. Ex. probably of Henri V, Count of Chambord (1820-1883).
