Contains Oriental Tales in the vein of the Thousand and One Nights and a collection of Italian, Spanish and English Proverbs. At the head, Life of Blanchet by Dusaulx. Abbé François Blanchet, royal censor and keeper of the books in the king's cabinet, born in Argenville, near Chartres, in 1707, died in Saint-Germain-en-Laye in 1784, was the author of numerous short verses often attributed to the best poets of his time and of works, published after his death, in which neither wit nor taste were lacking.
