Jean-Pierre-Nicolas Du Commun (Montécheroux, in the principality of Montbéliard 1688 - Etapes 1745) Pastor who studied theology at the University of Tubingue, composed three playful works which made his reputation: Les yeux, ouvrage curieux et galant (1715), Le nez (1717), Les tetons (1720). Viollet Le Duc points out the bizarre style of the author, who does not hesitate to use old-fashioned words. The collection ''consists almost entirely of epigrammatic tales in daints, in which the cynicism of the thought is not sufficiently hidden beneath the obscurity of the style''.
