The author was a friend of Grimod de la Reynière and left another work in which he comments on the works of J. J. Rousseau. He expresses himself on all sorts of subjects and gives details of the small world that surrounds him on the Place Royale. When human reason is two or three centuries older, it will be understood that it is possible to stop brigandage, without men taking a man's life with the suffrage of the Laws''. (Letter XIV).
