AMADIS OF GAUL. The Treasury of the Books of Amadis of Gaul. Namely the Speeches, Ballads, Epistles, Lamentations and other most excellent works (...). Lyon, ‘À l’écu de Milan’, published by the widow of the late G. Cotier, 1572. In-16, red morocco, gilded laurel wreath on the covers, ribbed spine with a repeated acorn-bearing oak branch, gilded interior lace, gilt edges (Trautz-Bauzonnet). 568 pp., 12 ff. of tables.  A lovely Lyon edition of this anthology drawn from the books of *Amadis de Gaule*. It is one of several volumes published by the widow of Gabriel Cotier, who had previously been the widow of Dominique Vérand and Eustache Barricat. On the death of G. Cotier, she took over the running of the publishing house, which she managed from 1565 to 1576, publishing a dozen books. This is the last of her publications. A fine copy from the Le Barbier de Tinan (1885, no. 144) and P. Grandsire (1930, no. 2) collections, with an ex-libris. Baudrier IV, p. 82.
